First and foremost, you can admire the statue of La Défense de Paris. The statue gives its name to the neighborhood. Dating from the late 19th century, the Louis-Ernest Barrias creation was forged in bronze to pay tribute to the French soldiers who participated in the defense of Paris during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870.

For comparison, it is heavier than 30 times the weight of the Eiffel Tower.
La Défense has opened up to the world thanks to the global community that descends on it. This is reflected in the artworks and structures within the neighborhood. For example, the Japan Bridge is a little further away.This futuristic Nippon-inspired bridge connects two buildings. Very airy and light, the structure is a real contrast with La Grande Arche.
